If you haven't heard, there's a Bill being discussed in America right now known as "SOPA", or the "Stop Online Piracy Act". This could potentially be passed in the next few months, and will have HUGE effects on the internet as we know it. It has some really awful policies and rules that would be implemented if it is passed. I thought I'd post some information on my Blog about it, and discuss how I feel.
Okay, so SOPA is a Bill that targets Online Piracy and Copyright issues on the internet. I get it, Piracy and Copyright are huge issues, and I agree that we need to do something about it. However, when I look into what SOPA contains and some of the policies it has, I completely think it's wrong. Let me show you what we're looking at here:
- The bill would allow certain U.S. Departments and copyright holders to seek court orders against websites accused of enabling or facilitating copyright infringements.
- This could include barring online advertising networks and payment facilitators such as PayPal from doing business with the infringing websites, barring search engines from linking to such sites, and requiring Internet service providers to block access to such sites.
- The bill would make unauthorized streaming of copyrighted content a felony.
So to put it bluntly, ANYTHING copyrighted or pirated could (and will) be removed and banned. This means that websites such as YouTube, Facebook, Streaming sites and Twitter could be changed for good, or even removed. This is clearly a huge issue, and something i'm sure a LOT of you would hate to watch happen. Imagine life without your favourite websites?!
I don't want to go on too much about it, but you can tell that it's pretty much a load of horse shit. It was introduced by an American called Lamar Smith, an elderly man who probably can't even use a keyboard. Fuck you Lamar.
I am praying this Bill is not passed, despite having support from huge companies such as EA (WANKERS!) and Universal Studios - I just pray they see the insanity behind the act and decide to just leave things the way they are.
This bill could potentially ruin the most important invention in human history - the internet. We can't allow this to happen.
I hope you learned something today, and I hope you're against this shitty SOPA fucked up bill.

What a year I've had!
This could get a little deep, many amazing things have happened in 2011 and quite a lot of them are very personal. Forgive me if I go into too much detail ;)
January
The first month of the year, and i'm not going to lie - it wasn't a good start. I was at College pretty much 9-4 every day. I was really struggling with completing all my work, getting a good attendance... and also, making videos was really difficult to make time for. Everything felt so rushed, and I was really under pressure with the end of my final year rapidly coming.
I am not embarrassed to admit it, but in early January I actually signed up to some therapy to help me with anxiety issues - I was getting panic attacks and I had no idea why. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I completed 5 weeks of therapy and by the end of it, I felt a lot better.
I had a meeting with my College's head teacher, and negotiated a lighter schedule so I had more time to relax. This really helped, and I was able to catch up on work.
February
February has turned out to be the most important month of my life so far. I met the girl of my dreams on the 5th, just 2 days after I turned 18. All of a sudden, I forgot about all my anxiety problems and issues - she relaxed me. My goal was no longer to really focus on College and my YouTube work... but it was to get to know this amazing girl, I felt so much calmness around her.
Not only did I find this girl, but February was also the month when I got my channel partnered with YouTube and Machinima! I was so happy at this point, my life had suddenly taken a turn for the better!
March
Things got a bit more serious with me and her, and it turns out that on the 7th of March it got real. We became boyfriend and girlfriend, we realised that after 4 weeks of talking and finding things out about one another, we knew it was something special. Sounds cheesy, but I have never been so sure about something before, it felt so right. She was the one for me!
April-August
Things were going GREAT. Me and my girlfriend were just growing closer and closer, and my YouTube channel was showing strong signs of growing. College was coming to an end, although it was a bit manic with a LOT of work to do. I managed to do most of it from home so I was able to spend more time with my princess, and it also meant I could make more videos for my channel! ;)
I finished College in July, and got my results in August. I was very happy, managed to get 2 A-Levels and 2 AS-Levels in Business, I.T, Media and Graphics. This meant I had 12 GCSE's added with my newly acquired A levels - it felt good putting together my C.V!
September-November
My YouTube Channel at this point was buzzing, with HUGE game releases such as MW3, BF3 and Skyrim just around the corner. By the beginning of October I was gaining roughly 100-150 subscribers a DAY! This was incredible, my channel jumped from 5,000 to 10,000 in about 4 weeks.
I do feel like I deserved it though. I had over 550 videos, and also put together 2 Marathons on MW3 and BF3 where I created 26 videos in just 6-7 days (IN A ROW!) This and juggling spending time with my girlfriend and family was a real struggle. I pulled it off though! It really helped my channel out.
I also passed my Advanced Motorbike test after completing 5 days of solid training. This was huge for me because now I can ride whatever bike I want.
Not only that, but me and my girlfriend organised a trip to Sweden, it was the most amazing time of my life. I will never forget it, until the day I die. I really despise travelling and found the whole ordeal very stressful, but boy was it worth it. ;)
December
Now we're at the present, just a few weeks until 2012. I have some HUGE plans for next year, and I hope my channel continues to grow!
Me and my girlfriend are getting even stronger as every week goes by, I want to use this opportunity to say thank you to her (i'm sure she'll read this post).
Elin, I love you with all my heart. I'm not embarrassed to say this infront of my followers because we are all human, and we all understand love and affection. You are the girl of my dreams, and the last 10 months have been incredible.
We have our whole future ahead of us, I want to share it with you and experience all the ups and downs of life together. Please let me be that soul mate to be there for you forever more.
Thank you, and I love you :)

The Future of Gaming?
The Gaming industry has become huge over the last few decades, it's been growing as technology has advanced for years and years, and it's got to such a level where we can create products that look like real life. However, that's the present and past. What about the future?
No doubt, the industry will continue to grow for many years to come. With huge launches such as the Playstation 4 and a new Xbox to be released in the coming years, how can it slow down? I can see console gaming becoming even bigger than it is now, where every household will own at least one.
Let's look at some figures -
Nintendo Wii has sold 89.36 Million consoles (as of October 2011)
Xbox360 has sold 57.6 Million consoles (as of November 2011)
Playstation 3 has sold 56 Million consoles (as of November 2011)
That is a LOT of Consoles, and this is disregarding PC gamers. Gaming really is a huge hobby for millions of people world wide, how will things change for the future?
I think we will have consoles where we actually feel immersed in the game itself. Imagine putting on some sort of helmet or goggles, and seeing the game around you in real life. Maybe we'll be able to play games in our sleep?! We might be able to get into bed, select a game and then take a tablet, or do something in order to play that game in your sleep - kind of like controlling your dreams?
It's a really neat topic to indulge when bored! I'm always thinking... "so when i'm 40 and i'm watching my kids play the new games, what will it be like?" I'm sure we'll be completely blown away by the technology, and we'll think back to the days where the Xbox360 and PS3 where the most amazing gadgets around. Oh how we'll laugh ;)
Well thanks reading, and if you got this far... props to you! Leave a comment! What do you think about the future of gaming?

YouTube trolls and negative people.
An interesting topic this one, so here's my thoughts.
Something I rarely have to deal with on my YouTube channel is hate. I don't often get "trolls" or "haters" watching my videos, so I can't really say I'm that experienced in dealing with them.
I just uploaded my "How MW3's Spawn System was Developed" video onto my channel, and it has gone down really well! As i'm typing this it has 215 likes and 7 dislikes - so clearly people are enjoying it and maybe even laughed! I checked the comments like I always do, and noticed one or two comments saying I am forgetting how much effort they put in to the game and that i'm just making them look shit... or that I am unfunny and they are unsubscribing (boohoo). People forget that we spend our money on their products, and that if they are broken or just poor quality - we have the right to complain. Luckily for Infinity Ward, I just make a stupid video instead of writing hate mail to them! xD
My response to those comments were along the lines of... "Lighten up" and "Where's your sense of humour?" And it's made me realise, there really are some negative people out there, even when presented with a quite clearly stupid video, they STILL manage to find something to moan about. It's a shame, because as the creator of the content, the negative comments stick with me the most, and it makes me forget that 99% of the viewers actually LIKED the video! I need to really focus on the positives not the negatives!
Hopefully i'll never have to deal with too much hate, I have always tried to be a neutral personality on YouTube, but without "sitting on the fence" too much and not having an opinion. I think i'm doing that pretty well so far :). I'll always have my fair share of trolls and negative comments, but like I said, I just need to focus on all the positive feedback I get!
Well, if you read this whole post I admire you for that. This is why I made this blog, it's a great outlet for me to express more feelings and thoughts I have that I can't necessarily explain in my video commentary's. Thanks for reading! I love you guys!
I'm off to bed now, got lots of editing and video production waiting for me to do tomorrow morning! Good night :)

The Video Production Process.
I thought I'd type out my editing process, so those who follow me get some insight into how I actually create my videos and edit them.
So it starts of with playing the game. I hop onto the PS3, turn on my Mac and open up my "EyeTV3" recording software. This program is amazing! I play and record, get whatever gameplay/clips I need.
Then I export the gameplay from EyeTV3 into my folder. Once it's in my folder, it's time to send it across to my PC (where I do all my editing). My setup works like this:
PS3 (play) -> Mac (record) -> PC (edit & upload)
To get the gameplay from my Mac to PC, I use an external Hard Drive, simply drag and drop the files and boom. They're all on my PC ready to edit! It's a really awesome setup, quick and easy!
My editing software on my PC is PowerDirector 10. Very underated software, but for channels like mine where you upload a lot of content, it has some very handy features to help you produce videos faster. For example, it has a "Batch Produce" option which allows me to render out multiple videos simultaneously.
So I import my gameplay and commentary into PD10, cut/edit the layers and sync them up. Save the file, rinse and repeat until all the editing is done. Go to my Batch Produce, set it up to render and there we go. All the videos are sitting in my "uploads" folder waiting to go live!
PD10 renders a 10min HD video in roughly 2-3mins - that is hands down the FASTEST render time out there for any budget editing software. I couldn't stress more how amazing the software is.
For anyone wondering how long it can take me to create videos, here is some rough calculations. It will give you an idea of how much time I spend doing this for my viewers! :)
10 minute video - 10min playing time, 5min Mac to PC, 5-10min Editing, 5min Render.
4 x 10min video - 45mins playing time, 20mins Mac to PC, 20-30mins Editing, 20min Render.
Don't forget the uploading too! I can upload a 10min video (500-700mb) in roughly 20mins. You can do the math for multiple uploads :)
So to round it up, on AVERAGE (4 uploads a day) I spend roughly 2-4 hours working on videos for you all! Awwww how nice of me ;)
But there you have it, hope you found this interesting :) remember to follow me so you don't miss a post!
